Learning Objective

Theory
The theory covers:
- Basic knowledge of flange connections.
- Overview of relevant legislation, such as the Working Conditions Act (Arbowet).
- Safety rules (general and specific).
- Technical knowledge about flanges, bolts, gaskets, and assembly parts.
- Procedures and use of tools and measuring instruments.
Practical Training
The practical training includes:
- Safety measures and preparation for flange work.
- Correct working posture and use of tools.
- Disassembling, opening, cleaning, aligning, and tightening flanges.
- Completion and inspection of the performed tasks.
Prerequisites
Participants must be at least 18 years old and possess a B-VCA, VOL-VCA, VIL-VCU, SCC-17, or SCC-18 diploma.
Exam Languages
The SOG exam can be taken in Dutch, English, German, Polish, Portuguese, or Romanian.

- Duration: 1 day with prior knowledge from our online course, 1-day refresher course, or 2 days for participants without experience.
- Price for 1 day: € 249.00 per person, plus € 70.00 SOG exam fee.

Diploma
Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive a diploma according to the SSVV Training Guide (SOG), valid for 5 years. Participants are registered in the Central Diploma Register: cdr.ssvv.nl.

Flange Fitter Advanced (ELCONY)
Target Audience
This advanced course is designed for experienced flange technicians who open and close flange connections according to strict protocols, using hand tools and a mechanical torque wrench. The course covers specific work instructions, the relationship between gasket pressure and bolt forces, misalignments, and the use of lubricants.
NAM Recognition
For VCA-certified companies, it is mandatory that employees working on flange connections possess a diploma from the SSVV Training Guide. Additionally, NAM requires a supplementary diploma recognized by them. ELCONY is a recognized training provider and is listed in NAM’s ‘Work Instruction for Flange Connections.’ This diploma serves as proof of training and must be presented upon request by NAM.

- Opening and closing flange connections according to protocol.
- Inspection of gasket surfaces and bolts, and selection of suitable gaskets.
- Accurate alignment of flanges and measurement of misalignment.
- Applying the specified gasket pressure, with or without an electronic gasket pressure meter.
- Interpreting gasket pressure, bolt force, and misalignment.
Prerequisites
Participants must be at least 18 years old and have experience in flange assembly. A valid diploma for Working on Flange Connections According to Protocol (SOG) is required.
