Working with Torque and Tensioning Equipment (SOG)
Target Audience
This course is intended for mechanics who open and close bolted connections using hydraulic torque and tensioning equipment.
Training Objective
After completing the course, participants will be able to safely and responsibly loosen and tighten bolted connections using hydraulic torque and tensioning equipment.
Theory
Features and operating principle of torque equipment. Features and operating principle of tensioning equipment. Methodology of working with torque (torquing) equipment. Methodology of working with tensioning (tensioning) equipment. Fundamentals of controlled loosening and tightening of flange connections. Working according to protocol (closing procedure). Safety requirements when using specific equipment and tools.
Practice
Application of relevant regulations and procedures. Working with measuring instruments. Practical exercises with torque and tensioning equipment.
Participation Requirements
Participants must be at least 18 years old. A valid VCA or SSC certificate is required.
Exam Languages
The SOG exam is available in Dutch and English.
Course Duration
1 day if prior knowledge is available through our online course or refresher course. 2 days without our online course and without previous experience.
Diploma
The course is aligned with NEN-EN 1591-4 module 2 and module 3. Registration in the central diploma register (cdr.ssvv.nl). Valid for 5 years.
